Bio

Shoshana started life as a preschool teacher. After taking a Masters degree in Literature, she pioneered a multiracial communications program during apartheid in South Africa. This led her to do a Masters degree in psychology at John F. Kennedy University when she arrived in the United States and she became a Marriage Family Therapist. She is also licensed in Hypnotherapy and EMDR. Now she has a psychotherapy practice in Walnut Creek, is an intern supervisor, teaches at university level, and is a consultant for therapists for practice development and eating disorders.

She’s a continuing education provider for therapists and nurses, and under the designation Kobrin Kreations, gives trainings, workshops, and retreats. Three books are in process: a self-help book on weight and food problems, an inspirational book of poems and writings, and a collection of short stories.

Her therapy style is warm and caring, also practical and goal-oriented. She takes an active and engaged role in the therapy process. Besides a variety of psychological approaches, including psychosprituality, attachment and emotional focus therapy, she uses creative modes such as dreamwork, meditation, writing, sandtray and art therapy.
